Mulching

Mulching of garden beds is a great way to add an exclamation mark to your property. The purpose of mulch is to help retain moisture in your garden beds, while adding an aesthetically pleasing look to your yard. Mulch also breaks down over the year, which helps to provide your garden beds with added nutrients. Over the hot summer months, mulch can make the difference in the overall health of your plants as well as your water bill. For all mulching jobs we use a premium, double shredded, chestnut brown, hardwood mulch. Other types and colors of mulch are available upon request.

When?

Mulching traditionally takes place during the spring months. We start as early as February and can mulch throughout the season if desired. Some of our customers also request a second mulching in the fall. This will help give your property a clean look throughout the holiday season.

Aeration and Overseeding

Aeration and Seeding is vital if you want to maintain a healthy, lush lawn year after year.  It prevents soil compaction which allows oxygen, nutrients and water to penetrate your soil. These three components are essential to promoting growth and creating a stronger, more resilient lawn. Overseeding is the process of spreading seed over an existing lawn. As grass matures, thinning is inevitable. By overseeding your lawn, you allow the grasses to stay competitive, infused with youth and vigor. We use heavy core aerators and premium grass seed to ensure quality.

When?

This service is traditionally done once a year during the month of September or October. As the cooler temperatures of autumn begin to settle in and more rain begins to fall, this provides ideal conditions for new seed to flourish.

Hedging

Hedging of shrubs and bushes is an important step in maintaining healthy garden beds. By keeping hedges maintained, you ensure that your ground cover plants get plenty of sunlight while also giving your property a clean, sharp look. Our hedging services include clean-up and hauling.

When?

Hedging is traditionally done 3-4 times a year depending on the type of bushes you have in your yard, as well as the amount of sunlight these bushes are absorbing. It's best to hedge after the first bloom of spring through the fall -- before the frost sets in. However, hedging of decorative grasses and crape myrtles is usually done in late winter.
